There are so many different things you can do, and colors you can use with your eye makeup. Its really all up to you and how you want them to look and what makes you feel the most beautiful.

If you want your eye makeup to last all day, and remain creaseless- use an eyeshadow primer. Just like you primed your face, its a good idea to primer your eyes too. My favorite high end eye primer is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. A great drugstore option is the Wet n Wild Fergie Eyeshadow primer. When applying, take a pea sized amount to your ring finger and spread the product all over your lid, up to your brow bone.

The next step is applying eyeshadow. It is best to do this with a brush, but you can use your ring finger if you do not have one. Start with two colors: a neutral color and a darker shade. Run your brush over the light, neutral shade and tap off any excess shadow. Apply the color across the entire lid from the lash line to just above the crease, sweeping upward toward the brow (without going as high as the brow). Sweep your brush over the darker eye shadow, and be sure to tap off any excess before applying. To create contour, start by applying shadow at the outer corner of the eye just above the top lashes. Then sweep it along the eyelid where the brow bone hits the crease, moving the brush in a half-moon from the outer corner of the eye inward toward the center of the eyelid. (Don’t darken the innermost part of the eyelid.) Sweep the brush back and forth several times to blend. To intensify color, repeat with more shadow.

Liquid Eyeliner can be used to bring your eyeshadow look together. When doing this, start at the inner corner of your eyelid, and carefully draw a line along your lash line. Your eyeliner should be the thinest when it starts at your inner eye, and get thicker as it moves outward. For beginners, I recommend the Elf Liquid Liner because it is easy to use.

Mascara can also be used to enhance the look of your eyes. It will make your eyelashes look longer and fuller, in turn making your eyes look larger. Before applying, wipe off any excess product to avoid your lashes turning into clumps. Start at the roots of your eyelashes, making your way to the tips. Keep applying coats until your eyelashes are how you desire.  If you're willing to invest in just one high end product, make it a nice mascara. You will really see a difference in quality with a high end mascara. My favorites are the Benefit They're Real, and the Clinique High Intensity mascara.

They key to completing your eye makeup is to have nice eyebrows. If you have never gotten them waxed, it may be something you want to consider. This will clean them up and give them the arch that will complement your face shape. It is much easier to apply makeup to your eyebrows when they are nicely shaped and clean. Start with a brow pencil and a spooly brush, such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or the NYX Micro brow pencil. Use the pencil side to lightly fill in your eyebrows. Then, blend it out with the spooly brush on the other side. Try to find a color that is a shade lighter than your hair. This will prevent your eyebrows from looking too harsh or fake.
